ClubsNSW is the Principal Partner of the NSW Institute of Sport, providing $1 million a year in sponsorship support and has been the principal partner since 1995.
As the industry's peak body, ClubsNSW provides a wide range of services for more than 1400 member clubs, including Workplace Relations, Government Relations, Member Enquiry Centre, Club Directors' Institute, Clubs Consulting, ClubsNSW Financial Services, Media Relations, Industry Marketing and Communications Campaigns, Conferences, Trade Exhibitions, Seminars, Information Services and Responsible Gambling Services through the Club Safe program.
According to the Allen Consulting Group, the dollar value of clubs' social contribution is $1.1 billion per annum. They do so not only because it's entrenched in their culture, but also because they recognise that they have a role to play in strengthening the foundation of their local communities.
The $1 million annual contribution from ClubsNSW helps ensure that the NSWIS remains one of Australia's leading sporting Institutes. Through this affiliation, ClubsNSW has contributed over $12 million to elite sport in NSW.
In addition to this support, individual clubs around NSW have also sponsored the Institute's sport programs. The Bankstown District Sports Club is a long time supporter of the hugely successful NSWIS cycling program. The Mingara Recreation Centre is located on the Central Coast and is an NSWIS Central High Performance Centre and Bexley Golf Club is a partner of the NSWIS Golf Program.
ClubsNSW has recently announced that it has extended its support of the Institute until the end of 2012 giving our State's elite athletes financial certainty through the Beijing and London Olympic Games.
