Holly Crawford made history winning Australia's first winter World Championship Medal. It also saw the Australian Youth Olympic Festival take place over four days, in Sydney.
February
This month was saw the one year countdown to the 2010 Winter Olympics begin. The Kookaburras also took to the field and demolished Belgium.
March
March was the month for national championships, with Diving, Canoe/ Kayak, Rowing, Swimming and Track & Field all crowning new national champions.
