A number of NSWIS athletes have achieved excellent results at last week's 2010 Australian Rowing Championships.
The prestigious King's Cup went to NSW for the third consecutive year. All nine athletes who contributed to the win; Francis Hegerty, Matthew Ryan, Toby Lister, Fergus Pragnell, Nick Purnell, Tom Laurich, James Chapman, Sam Loch and Daniel Noonan, are NSWIS scholarship holders.
Other great results from the meet include Loch and Purnell's victory as part of the men's coxless four, defeating Hegerty and Ryan in the process, and Alexander Belonogoff, Nick Hudson and Noonan taking gold in the men's quad scull.
To further his status as one of Australia's premier rowers, Noonan was honoured by being named the 2009 Rowers' Rower of the Year.
