NSWIS north side canoe sprinters have continued on from their strong 2009 season with excellent results from the 2010 Australian National Championships.
Of the men, Torsten Lachman finished with gold in the men's C1 1000m and C2 1000m, Murray Stewart claimed gold in the men's K2 1000m as well as silvers in the men's K1 1000m and K4 1000m, and Wayne Dunbar finished with silver in the under-18 men's K1 1000m.
Jo Brigden-Jones was crowned national champion in the women's K1 1000m.
In other canoe news, six NSWIS athletes have recently been selected to the 2010 Australian Canoe Slalom team. The athletes selected are Ethan Hodson (men's C1), Will Forsythe (men's K1), Jessica Fox and Kate Lawrence (women's K1) and Rosalyn Lawrence (women's C1).
Two NSWIS athletes were selected to the Australian Team 22 Canoe Sprint team. The athletes are Ian Borrows and Rosalyn Lawrence.
