The NSWIS Track & Field Program has both track and field and wheelchair track and road components.
Track & Field
The NSWIS Track & Field Program aims to provide world class coaching, training, competition, facilities and support services to improve athlete development.
The NSWIS Track & Field Program targets NSW athletes achieving international medal and finalist level performances; NSW athletes on targeted national open and junior teams with a long term aim to achieve minimum per capita representation; and talented emerging athletes.
The NSWIS Track and Field program currently boasts a number of champions.
Jana Rawlinson (400m Hurdles) - 2003 and 2007 World Champion; World Youth and World Junior Champion; 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Champion (individual and relay)Dani Samuels (Discus) – 2005 World Youth and 2006 Junior Champion; 2007 World Championships and 2008 Olympics representative
Joshua Ross (100m/200m) - Four-time Australian 100m champion; 2004 Olympic and 2005 and 2007 World Championships representative. An Indigenous Australian, Ross was awarded the 2004 Deadly Award for Male Sportsperson of the Year.
Jane Saville (20km Walk) – 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympic representative; 2004 Olympic bronze medallist; 1998, 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth champion.

Wheelchair Track & Road
The NSWIS Wheelchair Track & Road Program aims to provide world class coaching, training, competition, facilities and support services to improve athlete development.
The NSWIS Wheelchair Track & Road Program targets successful athletes at open and underage national and international level competition and events; and athletes vying for selection into national teams/squads.
Andrew Dawes has been Head Coach of the NSWIS Wheelchair Track & Road Program since its inception in September 1997. As a Level 2 accredited Track & Field Coach, Dawes has been involved in coaching wheelchair athletes since 1994 and has been involved with the National team since 1996. Under Dawes’s direction, members of the NSWIS Wheelchair Track & Road Program have contributed to a total of eight gold, five silver and one bronze Paralympic medals in 1996, 2000 and 2004.
Louise Sauvage, Paralympic, Olympic, World Champion and former NSWIS Wheelchair Track and Road athlete, is now the Elite Development Coach for the NSWIS Wheelchair Track & Road Program, using her years of experience to assist other athletes to achieve their dreams.

The NSWIS Track & Field EAP is a joint initiative between Athletics NSW and the NSWIS.
