2009 - 2012 Winter Sports Program

The NSWIS Winter Sports Program is delivered in partnership with the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA), Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre (JSRC), NSW Snow Sports and Ski and Snowboard Australia (SSA) and is supported by the ski resorts of Kosciusko Thredbo and Perisher Blue.

The program targets athletes in squad programs for the disciplines of Freestyle Moguls and Snowboard Halfpipe. These programs provide selected athletes with world class training facilities and coaching with a focus on supporting athletes competing at an open international level.

The NSWIS also offers two individual Alpine scholarships annually that provide athletes with the opportunity to access world class coaching and facilities through Snowsports Great Britain.

A further ten scholarships are offered for Individual Scholarships. These scholarships are generally offered to athletes showing the potential to represent Australia at an open international level in the disciplines of Skier Cross, Ice Skating and Cross Country.
