Fearnley takes silver

NSWIS wheelchair track and road star Kurt Fearnley has won a silver medal in the T54 Men's 5000m event at the Birds Nest.

Fearnley, the Olympic Champion from 2004 in the same event had focused on his British arch-rival for most of the race, both of whom were overcome by their Thai competitor who took out the gold.

Fearnley finished the race in 10:22.97 to take the silver but still has plenty more chances of gold in the T54 800m, 1500m and Marathon events.
