Medals on track

Three NSWIS athletes were in action in the Birds Nest overnight, with two medals being won.

The pick of the bunch came from Angie Ballard and Christie Dawes who combined to win a silver medal as part of the T53/54 Women's 4x100m Relay. The team crossed the line in 1:01.91 to take the silver medal behind China, the first medal of the 2008 Games for Ballard and Dawes.

Kurt Fearnley competed in his second last event of the Games, the T54 Men's 1500m. Fearnley won a bronze in the race behind his British and Thai arch-rivals, crossing the line in a time of 3:14.28 to win his third medal of the meet.

Fearnley is back in action today in the final event of the Games, the Men's Marathon.
