Fearnley leads Paralympic selections

Seven NSWIS athletes have been selected on the Australian Paralympic team to contest the 2012 London Paralympic Games beginning in August this year.

Two time Paralympic marathon gold medallist Kurt Fearnley leads selections in the wheelchair track & road events, with his focus being a third Paralympic marathon gold in London.

Joining Fearnley in the wheelchair track & road events are Beijing silver medallists Angela Ballard and Christie Dawes, Sydney and Athens silver medallist Richard Nicholson, and Games debutant Kristy Pond.

The track & field selections are headlined by jumper, thrower and runner Georgia Beikoff, along with long jumper Stephanie Schweitzer.

A further seven athletes are still being considered for nomination to the team, with the Paralympic Games kicking off on August 29th.
