The NSWIS Athlete Career and Education (ACE) unit assists athletes to achieve educational and vocational aspirations without compromising their sporting objectives. ACE provides a range of specialist services in the areas of:

Career
The ACE unit assists athletes in balancing sporting goals with a career by providing career counselling services, employment and job seeking assistance through the NSWIS/ClubsNSW Employ an Athlete Program, and resume and interview skills advice.

Education
The ACE unit assists athletes with flexible study options, special entry schemes, scholarships, representative opportunities and academic assistance. The ACE unit has a range of education providers including:
- National ACE 
- The Australian College of Physical Education
- APM College of Business and Communication
- Fitness Institute of Australia
- The University of Sydney
- Wizard Corporate Training
- Elite Athlete Friendly Universities

Professional Development and Life Skills
A range of life skills workshops and development opportunities are offered to NSWIS athletes, coaches and parents. Specialised workshops for sports may be organised by coaches, with general workshops are delivered on demand. 

Sport Speakers
NSWIS athletes have the opportunity to be trained in public speaking and presentation skills, equipping them with the ability to share their experiences with school children, corporate groups and the general public.

Athlete Lounge
The Athlete Lounge is an area set aside exclusively for NSWIS athletes to use when visiting the NSWIS facility. It is an area where athletes can grab a healthy snack, complete school or university work, surf the net, check e-mails or simply relax. The Athlete Lounge is open Monday - Friday from 7am - 5:30pm, with restricted access available on weekends.

Breakfast is available for NSWIS athletes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings in the athlete lounge from 7am - 9am.
