The NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Rowing Program, in partnership with Rowing Australia (RA) and Rowing NSW (RNSW) provides world-class coaching opportunities, training and competition, facilities and support services to improve athlete development with a view to supporting the daily training needs of targeted athletes.
Partners are currently reviewing and developing the program for 2013-16 in line the Australian Sports Commission’s 'The Winning Edge'. The NSWIS will continue to support athletes identified through Rowing Australia’s national scholarship framework until the national strategy for Rowing in Australia is confirmed.
A priority for the program is to provide world class coaching and through the recent employment of Tim McLaren as head coach. McLaren has a wealth of experience both coaching in NSW and also coaching individual athletes and crews to Olympic medals.
