The NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Water Polo Program is supported as a world class program delivered in partnership with Water Polo Australia (WPA) and Water Polo NSW (WPNSW).
Partners are currently reviewing and developing the program for 2013-16 in line the Australian Sports Commission’s 'The Winning Edge'. The NSWIS will continue to support athletes identified through Water Polo Australia’s national scholarship framework until the national strategy for water polo in Australia is confirmed.
The program provides a daily training environment for athletes competing at an international level in open, junior and youth categories, with a competition focus on the Olympic Games and world championships.
The program is underpinned by a two tiered Emerging Talent Squad that aims to assist with the skill development of up and coming water polo players.
