Aaron Royle is an Australian triathlete, dual Olympian and NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) scholarship holder.

In 2009 he represented Australia for the first time. He competed in the Youth Olympics and then at the junior world championships. Since then, Aaron has been competing around the world on the ITU circuit.

The former U23 world champion placed third in the ITU World Triathlon Series in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and won a bronze medal in the mixed relay event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

He made his Olympic debut at the Rio 2016 Games after he secured Australia’s first triathlon quota spot having finished 6th at the 2015 Rio Test Event. His performance at Rio placed him 9th in the end.

Following his Rio performance, Aaron placed 8th at the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Stockholm and went on to win gold at the 2018 ITU World Triathlon Mixed Relay Series Edmonton. He also placed 8th at the 2019 Miyazaki ITU Triathlon World Cup.

Aaron was named to his second Australian Olympic team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. At Tokyo, Aaron placed 9th in the mixed relay and 26th in the men’s individual triathlon.
