In what was a breakout season for the moguls skier, Jakara earned her first-ever world cup podium in the 2018/19 season and finished the season with a total of six medals and a 2nd place world ranking. In the 2019/20 season, she went on to claim an additional four world cup medals and held onto her 2nd place ranking for the second year in a row.
While COVID forced several events to be cancelled throughout the 2020-2021 season, Jakara narrowly missed the podium twice after reaching the top-six super final.
The 2021/22 season has seen the moguls champion enjoy her greatest success to date, earning a total of five podium finishes. In a great start to her Olympic campaign, Jakara earned a silver medal at the opening FIS mogul skiing World Cup event in Ruka, Finland – the performance marking the 10th world cup podium of her career.
Adding to her World Cup silver, Jakara then continued her impressive start to the season taking home two bronze medals at the world cup event in Idre Fjall, Sweden, standing on the podium for both the singles event and dual moguls competition. The medals moved her into the lead position of the Moguls World Cup standings for the first time in her career.
In December 2021, the 23-year old from Barwon Heads extended her lead with an impressive dual gold performance in Alpe d’Huez, France.
At the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, Jakara led all four of her events to become Olympic champion, winning the gold medal and becoming Australia’s first-ever female mogul’s medallist.
