Joshua Azzopardi represented Australia in athletics at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The NSWIS scholarship holder is a born and bred western Sydney local, having grown up in Grasmere close to Camden, attending Macarthur Anglican School.

His athletic journey began when he participated in Little Athletics in the Under 6’s at the Camden Athletics Club. He also played other sports including AFL and Rugby League.  He fell in love with athletics after running sub 11 in the 100m a couple of weeks after his 17th birthday.

“My childhood residence was very close to where I was training out of (Camden), which made going to training a lot more convenient, with my high school St Gregory’s College having a great history in athletics winning multiple MCS titles and having good teachers that had a passion for athletics, therefore naming me athletics captain in year 12 (2017).”
