NSW Institute of Sport scholarship holder Natalie Van Coevorden represented Australia in triathlon at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and won a bronze medal in the mixed team relay and finished 14th in the women’s sprint.

Born and bred in Campbelltown, the 29-year-old will make her Commonwealth Games debut, rounding out a 14-strong Para and able-bodied triathlon squad.

After swimming nine times a week in her youth, Natalie tried triathlon and placed 4th at the Australian National Schools Triathlon in 2010.

In 2012, Natalie competed in her first World Triathlon Series race in Sydney, and has completed many races on the ITU circuit since. In 2013, she finished third on the podium on the ITU circuit at the Tongyeong World Cup.

In 2018, she gained her first WTS medal in Abu Dhabi, placing 3rd. The following year she won a bronze medal for Australia at the ITU Triathlon Mixed Relay World Championship in Hamburg.
