The NSWIS-dominant Australian Women’s Softball Squad has flown to Japan to embark on its final innings of preparations for the Tokyo Olympics.

12 of the Institute’s athlete agreement holders, plus one visiting athlete, make up 57% of the current 23-person squad, which will be reduced to 15 ahead of the Games.

The ‘Aussie Spirit’ are scheduled to play multiple pre-Games matches against Japan in June, making a welcome return to the international competition ahead of the Olympics.

After the final team selection, the Spirit will then complete their preparations before their first Olympic game, also against Japan, on the 21st July.
