NSW trap shooters take aim in Tokyo

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics men’s trap shooting event got underway on Wednesday with the first day of qualification taking place at the Asaka Shooting Range.

Representing Australia, were NSWIS scholarships holders James Willett and Thomas Grice who, after the first three rounds of competition, are currently placed 15th and 24th respectively.

Willett hit 72 of 75 shots to place 15th on countback (CB:18) while Grice, who shot a perfect first-round, finished the day on 71.

Abdulrahman Al Faihan from Kuwait finished day one in 1st place.

Qualification continues tomorrow with the final two rounds, where the top six shooters will progress to Thursday’s final.
