McKeon finishes on a high

Rising star Emma McKeon has finished her debut world cup campaign on a high after winning gold on the final night of competition at the Beijing leg of the short course series.

McKeon came from behind in the women’s 100m freestyle to win in a time of 53.09 from fellow Australian Cate Campbell and China’s Tang Yi.




Fellow NSWIS athlete Olivia Halicek was also on the medal dais in Beijing, taking bronze in the women’s 50m breaststroke and women’s 100m individual medley.

The world cup now moves to its final meet in Tokyo from November 12-13.
