McKeon motors to victory in Beijing

Emma McKeon to impress overnight at the Beijing leg of the 2011 FINA World Cup, picking up a gold medal on the opening night of competition.

McKeon’s gold came in the women’s 50m, outlasting Therese Alshammar by 0.01 seconds to clock a new personal best time of 24.15, the sixth fastest time ever by an Australian in the event.




Also on night one of competition, fellow NSWIS athlete Robert Hurley returned to his winning ways, picking up gold in the men’s 400m freestyle.
