Four NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) scholarship athletes competed in the Diamond League finals in Zurich this week.

Tokyo silver medallist Nicola McDermott competed alongside fellow Institute athlete Eleanor Patterson in the high jump final.

Patterson finished in sixth place in the event, bowing out as the bar was raised to 1.90m.

Australian record holder McDermott was close to breaking her PB and Australian record of 2.02m in the event, clearing the 2.01m mark.

Unable to clear the 2.05m mark, the 24-year-old finished up in third position in the event.

Rohan Browning and Oliver Hoare competed in day two of the finals, lining up for the 100m and 1500m respectively.

Browning proved he is one to watch in the sprint after impressing in Tokyo, finishing in sixth position in the final.

Hoare recorded a personal best time of 3:32.66 in his event, finishing up in an impressive fourth position.
