From the Far West Academy of Sport:

The Far West Academy of Sport (FWAS), recently held a successful two day swimming camp in Warren (8th and 9th October), which was supported by Swimming NSW.

Jim Fowlie, Head Coach of the New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) swimming program, headed up the camp, which saw over 30  swimmers from across the region attend along with over 15 coaches.

FWAS Development Officer, Matthew Thompson was pleased with the camp.

“It was great to see so many swimmers attend the two day camp despite the chilly conditions and I am sure it will help them with the start of the season coming up in the next couple of weeks” he said.

“Jim was impressed with the level of talent during the camp and commented that several have the potential to go a long way with their swimming if they continue on their current path and work hard.

“It was also fantastic to see so many eager coaches attend the camp to learn from one of the best coaches in Australia. This will only help the development of swimmers in the Far West region.”

The FWAS would like to thank the Warren Council and Swimming Pool for hosting the camp along with Jim Fowlie for travelling out to Warren to conduct the clinic.
