Paralympic qualifying on track

The Australian wheelchair rugby team and men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams have all take huge steps towards qualification for the 2012 London Paralympic Games over the weekend.
The wheelchair rugby team, the Steelers, are four wins from four matches in their qualifying tournament after defeating Korea twice, and New Zealand and Japan once each over the weekend.
NSWIS athlete Ryley Batt has been dominant in the Australians victories, scoring 57 goals in two matches yesterday against New Zealand and Korea. The team will play Japan and New Zealand today and needs to finished in the top two to secure London qualification.
The wheelchair basketballers are also on course for selection to London, the men’s team notching three wins from three matches, and the women’s team winning two of three, including a 119-9 thrashing of hosts Korea. Both teams will have to secure a top-two finish to qualify for London.
