The Australian men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams have successfully qualified for the 2012 London Paralympic Games, and will now play for gold at the 2011 Asia Oceania Championships.
The men’s team, the Rollers, secured their selection yesterday after storming through the tournament undefeated, and will take on Japan in the final for the gold medal.
The women’s team, the Gliders, had a more difficult task than the men’s team after losing a crucial match against Japan on Tuesday. The loss meant the Gliders had a do or die clash with Korea in which they prevailed 84-11 to secure their London selection.
The 2012 London Paralympic Games take place from August 29 – September 9 2012.
