NSWIS swimmer Eamon Sullivan won his first medal of the 2011 FINA World Cup series overnight, picking up silver in the men’s 50m freestyle.
Sullivan clocked a time of 21.76 in the two lap, short course dash, finishing behind Commonwealth Games gold medallist Brent Hayden, while fellow NSWIS athlete Matthew Abood finished fourth in 21.81, just 0.01 seconds outside a medal.
The men’s 100m butterfly saw Geoff Huegill finish sixth in a time of 51.34, quicker than the time he swam in Stockholm to win bronze.
The Australian team will now head to the Berlin leg of the world cup from October 22-23.
