The Australian men’s wheelchair rugby team, the Steelers, has secured a spot at the 2012 London Paralympic Games after crushing Japan in the final of the Asia-Oceania qualifying tournament in Korea.

NSWIS athlete Ryley Batt led the way for the Steelers, scoring 33 goals as Australia won 59-41 over the world’s third ranked nation, dominating from the outset and never really being troubled by their opponents.

The team will now head back to Australia to begin preparation for the Games, where they will face the USA, Canada, Sweden, Belgium, France, Japan and Great Britain.
