Physiotherapy
A central part of the proactive clinical model that the NSW Institute of Sport deliver is physiotherapy.
NSWIS scholarship athletes have access to several options when looking for physiotherapy assistance. The below information explains the three types of sports physiotherapy services scholarship athletes can make use of.
(For physiotherapy options for NSWIS winter sports and sailing programs, please consult with your coach or sports consultant)
1. Sports Physiotherapy Coordinator
Every NSWIS sport has a Sports Physiotherapist working regularly in their sport program. This is the first point of contact if you have an injury or illness and need assessment or advice on what to do next.

These physiotherapists work in NSWIS sport programs but also have appointments available for all scholarship athletes to give you more flexibility. They will work closely with your sport physiotherapy coordinator to ensure you have consistent care.
To make a booking please click on the practitioner link above.
Where do I go for appointments?
NSWIS Medical & Physiotherapy Appointments at NSWIS are now located on the Ground Floor.
Please present to reception at your appointment time.
3. Satellite Sports Physiotherapists
We know our athletes live throughout Sydney and regional areas and sometimes need an option closer to home. NSWIS has carefully selected experienced Sports Physiotherapists with post-graduate qualifications in the field of Sports Physiotherapy (i.e. they are titled Sports Physiotherapists) and linked them into our system.
NSWIS scholarship holders can have three appointments free of charge after which time they will be referred to their Sport Physiotherapy Coordinator.
Note: You must identify yourself as an NSWIS athlete when you book in with these clinicians. It is also your responsibility to turn up for the appointment, or you will be liable for the cost.
