Moguls for Movember: Raising Funds for Men’s Health

Posted on November 16, 2021 by

There’s nothing like the month of November to bring a team together: The moguls are back and at it again this year, taking on Movember in a bid to raise funds and awareness for men’s health.

After successfully taking on the campaign last year and raising $4,630.0o for men’s health, the Australian mogul ski team have taken to the challenge again this year. Their motivation to raise funds and awareness for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in their lives – and what better way to bond as a team than over the length of their ‘staches.

Now at the half way mark, NSWIS scholarship holders James Matheson, Matthew Graham, Cooper Woods and Brodie Summers have cracked the $1000+ mark, now having raised $1,480 this year.

Coach Peter Topalovic is supporting the teams cause, in some friendly banter he poked fun at the team’s questionable moustache’s and called for support,

“The team are growing a mo’ for the cause and we are all in to stop men from dying too young. Along our Movember journey you will be provided with great comic relief as the team are incapable of growing a mo’, in fact it’s borderline embarrassing but our purpose is not. Please support us if you can”.

Tackling mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer, Movember as an organisation aims to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% by as soon as 2030. They work to unite experts from around the world to tackle these areas and direct funding where it is needed most in order to impact men’s health, both locally and globally.

Since 2003, the Australian born charity has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

NSWIS congratulates the moguls team for their work in raising funds and awareness for the cause.
