NSWIS horsemen Stuart Tinney and Shane Rose head into the final day of the Equestrian Team Eventing competition on top of the leader board.

The team heads into the showjumping stage tomorrow with a four penalties lead over New Zealand.

Tinney was the third Australian to ride overnight and he followed up the sensational performance of teammate and individual leader Chris Burton with a 2.8 aboard his horse Pluto Mio.

“Let’s see what happens tomorrow, get them all there and see if we can leave the jumps up, another day yet though,” Tinney told the AOC website.

Things were running smoothly for Rose and his horse CP Qualified as well until two refusals just two fences from the finish seeing him eliminated from the competition.

“He was going great, it felt really good up until then. I was on my time and just in the water he got a little clagged and just wasn’t responding,” Rose said.

Australia is still in the Team event though, with only three out of four riders needing to complete the competition.
