A NSWIS Honour Roll of Athletes Competing at Nationals

The New South Wales Institute of Sport will be represented by 35 senior athletes at the Australian National Athletic Championships which will be staged in Adelaide from April 11-14.

Included in the mix are world champions, world championships medallists, Olympic medallists, Olympians, Commonwealth Games medallists and national champions. Some, including high jumper Eleanor Patterson, and 400m hurdler Sarah Carli have featured in the Institute’s documentary series, NSWIS Lights Up.

The Australian Athletics Championships is the largest annual athletics event in Australia and the Oceania region, traditionally attracting more than 3,500 athletes from across Australia and the Pacific.

The 101^st edition of the Championships serves as the culmination of an impressive domestic season, while it is also a key part of the nomination process for the Australian Olympic and Paralympic Teams travelling to the Paris 2024 Games.

It’s expected the Australian Olympic Committee will make the first round of selections for the Olympic team on ground in Adelaide, following the conclusion of the Open age championships.
