Individual Athlete Program

The NSWIS Individual Athlete Program (IAP) is a specialised program designed to support and enhance the development of athletes that are likely to qualify for the next Olympic and Paralympic cycle, although their sport sits outside of the NSWIS sport program.

The NSWIS IAP program has achieved success across several sports. NSWIS athlete Kaye Scott won a silver medal at the 2023 Women’s Boxing World Championships, while Ruby Trew earned a silver medal at the 2023 World Skateboarding Tour in Argentina. In Boccia, Dan Michel and Jamieson Leeson, supported by their ramp assistants Ash McClure and Amanda Leeson, respectively, achieved gold and silver medals at the 2022 World Boccia Championships. Additionally, the Wheelchair Rugby team, comprising Ryley Batt, Andrew Edmonson, Richard Voris, and Emilie Miller, became world champions at the 2022 Wheelchair Rugby World Championships.

Talent Pathways

Athletes will be eligible for inclusion into the NSWIS IAP Program based on their classification by the National Sports Organisation.
