The NSWIS Diving Program – led by renowned diving coach Chava Sobrino – provides a national high performance centre for divers at all levels. The program has celebrated remarkable achievements, including Matthew Mitcham’s historic gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, marking Australia’s first male diving Olympic gold in decades; Melissa Wu, who has won silver and bronze medals at the Olympic Games and most recently Rhiannan Iffland who was crowned World Champion in High Diving in 2023.

With a legacy of success, the NSWIS Diving Program continues to foster talent and contribute to the growth of diving in Australia through the Pursu32+ diving talent program which identifies the next generation of divers through a series of fitness, strength and agility tests.

NSWIS has been super important in helping me achieve everything, pretty much, in my career. From a mindset and a psychological point of view I’ve had so much growth over the years. I feel like being in an environment that has supported me to do that; focus on my wellbeing No.1; life balance, allowing me to grow as a person. That then had a really positive affect on my performance.
