Diving

In collaboration with Diving Australia and Diving NSW, the NSWIS Diving Program strives to provide comprehensive support to Australian divers and coaches, with the goal of securing medals at the Olympic Games and other significant benchmark events.

WORLD’S BEST

The NSWIS Diving Program – led by renowned diving coach Chava Sobrino – provides a national high performance centre for divers at all levels. The program has celebrated remarkable achievements, including Matthew Mitcham’s historic gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, marking Australia’s first male diving Olympic gold in decades; Melissa Wu, who has won silver and bronze medals at the Olympic Games and most recently Rhiannan Iffland who was crowned World Champion in High Diving in 2023.

With a legacy of success, the NSWIS Diving Program continues to foster talent and contribute to the growth of diving in Australia through the Pursu32+ diving talent program which identifies the next generation of divers through a series of fitness, strength and agility tests.
