Aussies roll Russia

The Australian men’s under-19 basketball team has continued to impress at the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championships in Latvia with a stirring 85-78 victory over Russia.

The team, coached by NSWIS coach Damian Cotter, trailed for three quarters of the match before a huge fourth quarter saw the team outscore Russia 27-17. Anthony Drmic was Australia’s leading scorer with 22 points, while NSWIS athletes Daniel Trist and Andrija Dumovic contributed two rebounds each in only a few minutes.

Australia will play Brazil tonight in the next round of 16 match.
