High jump athlete Brandon Starc has won the Muller Grand Prix Birmingham event in a new personal best height of 2.33m.

It’s a height only three centimetres off the long-standing Australian record of 2.36m set by Tim Forsyth in 1997.

Starc finished ahead of Canada’s Michael Mason and NACAC champion Jeron Robinson of the US to win the Birmingham competition, which is part of the IAAF Diamond League 2018.

Brandon will now compete in the International Hochsprung (High Jump) meeting in Eberstadt GER and will then continue onto the Diamond League Final in Brussels on 31st August, an event that Starc trueing does have a great opportunity in taking out and also taking the $50,000 winners cheque that will come with the win.
