The curtain has come down on the Australian canoe slalom domestic season, with the Paddle Australia National Championship delivering a fitting finale through the high-octane theatre of Kayak Cross.

Athletes from across the country converged for the title showdown, and the competition did not disappoint.

Kayak Cross brought unpredictability and drama to close out what has been another strong season for Australian slalom.

Olympic champion Noemie Fox, a New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) claimed the women’s title, finishing ahead of Georgie O’Callaghan in second and Codie Davidson taking third.

It was the third podium for Fox at the National Championships, today’s gold medal to go alongside her gold in the Women’s C1 and silver in the Women’s K1.

On the men’s side, Riley Galea took the national crown ahead of Merle Long in second, with Tim Anderson rounding out the podium in third.

With the domestic season now concluded, attention turns to international competition, where Australia’s slalom athletes will look to carry their form onto the world stage.
