NSWIS snowboarder Holly Crawford has continued her outstanding form in 2011 by taking silver at the first snowboard world cup of the 2011/12 season at the Cardrona Resort in New Zealand.

Crawford, the reigning women’s half-pipe world champion, took silver behind long time rival Xuetong Cai after posting 88.5 points in the final. Crawford’s silver was her 16th appearance on the medal dais in only 31 world cup starts.

Fellow NSWIS athlete and reining men’s half-pipe world champion, Nate Johnstone, finished fourth in the men’s half-pipe. The event was won by Finland’s Janne Korpi.
