Cycling world cup kicks off

The 2013/14 UCI Track Cycling World Cup kicked off in Manchester over the weekend, with three NSWIS athletes taking part.

Peter Lewis highlighted the results sheet for the NSWIS trio after finishing 11th in the men’s keirin, with fellow NSWIS athlete Mitchell Bullen taking 25th spot in the men’s sprint.

Olympic bronze medallist Kaarle McCulloch finished 14th in the women’s team sprint with compatriot Stephanie Morton, and 18th in the individual women’s sprint.

The next world cup event takes place in Aguascalientes, Mexico from 17-19 January 2014.
