Australian high jumper Nicola McDermott cleared a height of 1.94m for a third place finish at the latest Diamond League meet in Monaco.

The NSW Institute of Sport athlete was only bettered by Mariya Lasitskene of Russia, who set the bar at 2.00m at Louis II Stadium during the Herculis EBS IAAF Diamond League Meeting. McDermott followed Mirela Demireva in clearing the 1.94m height to take the bronze result.

Earlier in the year McDermott made a height of 1,96m to become equal third on the Australian all-time rankings list, and is the current Australian Champion.
