The Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) will increase the flexibility of scholarships available to NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) athletes in 2018, as it extends its partnership with NSWIS for a further three years.

As an Education Provider for NSWIS, ACPE supports athletes who wish to launch or further their careers in the sports sector and its related professions.

In 2018 ACPE will offer a greater number of scholarships to NSWIS athletes than previous years, as well as more flexibility in scholarship offering.

Debbie Le Roux, Dean & Operations Director at ACPE, says the college is excited to welcome more NSWIS athletes under the renewed partnership.

“ACPE is very pleased to continue our relationship with NSWIS, facilitating its athletes’ dual careers in elite sport and education.

“We pride ourselves on providing a great development environment for elite athletes, so we look forward to welcoming more NSWIS athletes this year.”

NSWIS CEO Kevin Thompson welcomes the renewal of an important partnership.

“NSWIS greatly values its relationship with ACPE,” said NSWIS CEO Kevin Thompson.

“As one of our Education Providers, ACPE helps our elite athletes to reach their full potential by finding a healthy balance between academic study and high performance sport.

“We’re excited that more of our athletes will have the opportunity to further their education with ACPE while training and competing with NSWIS.”

ACPE is one of Australia’s leading providers of innovative and specialist career education in sport, physical activity, education and health. The college offers bachelor degrees which can be undertaken on campus at Sydney Olympic Park, and a number of courses which are available online.
