Ewan takes third at Bay Crits

Defending champion and NSWIS cyclist Caleb Ewan has finished third overall at the 2014 Michelton Bay Cycling Classic in Victoria.

Riding for team Subaru NSWIS, the rising star finished 33rd in the first of four stages after missing the breakaway and being unable to bridge the gap,before turning in a much better performance in the second stage to finish second.

Ewan then finished in fifth place in stage three, 55 seconds behind the winner, before capping the four stage event with an excellent win in the final stage to finish third overall in the general classification.

Team Subaru NSWIS finished fifth overall in the team classification, with NSWIS athletes Jack Edwards, Scott Law, Aaron Donnelly and Nathan Bradshaw also competing at the event.
