Fearnley in seventh heaven

NSWIS wheelchair track & road star Kurt Fearnley has won his seventh Sydney Marathon after a strong performance in unseasonal heat in Sydney over the weekend.

Fearnley clocked a time of of 1:36:38, a new course record by over five seconds, to take gold in the event that serves as the perfect warm up to the Chicago and New York marathons later this year.

The win, and time, in Sydney is a strong indication of Fearnley’s preparation ahead of the 2012 London Paralympic Games, where he will be chasing his third successive gold medal in the men’s marathon.
