Fearnley third in New York

NSWIS wheelchair track & road racer Kurt Fearnley has finished with bronze at the 2013 New York Marathon, narrowly missing out on gold.

Fearnley was locked in a tense battle with fellow racers Marcel Hug and Ernst Van Dyk for much of the race, before a sprint finish decided the final places.

Hug took gold and Van Dyk finished second, with Fearnley taking bronze as all three athletes posted the same time of 1:40.15.
