Fearnley wins in London

NSWIS wheelchair track & road athlete Kurt Fearnley returned to the winner’s circle over the weekend with a victory in the men’s wheelchair event at the 2013 London Marathon.

Just a week after finishing fifth at the Boston Marathon, Fearnley crossed the line in London ahead of Switzerland’s Marcel Hug, with the top eight athletes finishing a mere five seconds apart.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Christie Dawes competed in the women’s event, finishing just outside the medals in fourth place.
