The remarkable achievements of our state’s world class athletes have been recognised in nominations for the 2022 NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Awards.

NSWIS CEO Professor Kevin Thompson celebrated the high calibre of award nominees and congratulated the finalists across the seven award categories.

“Our NSWIS-supported athletes delivered magnificent results on the world stage this year at the Winter Olympics and Paralympics and at the Commonwealth Games, with 84 athletes winning 28 medals for Australia,” Professor Thompson said. 

“These extraordinary achievements should inspire every child, able and para bodied, to follow their sporting dreams.

“As we look to Paris 2024 and beyond, NSWIS will continue to provide world leading coaching, performance support and daily training environments to support our athletes achieve podium performances.”
