Adam Kable is a former elite swimmer who has now emerged as a rising elite swimming coach at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. Adam is using the lessons he gained in the pool and the resources available to him at the NSWIS to impart as much quality knowledge on his athletes as possible.

I enjoy reading, or listening to, sporting biographies. I just finished Bob Bowman’s book – he is the long-time coach of Michael Phelps.

What inspired you to start a career in sport?

I enjoyed being an athlete and was fortune enough to have great coaches as role models.

What sporting achievements are you most proud of?

Seeing my athletes progress their swimming career and achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

What do you do in your coaching that you believe is the key to your success?

Stay up to date with the latest trends in sport science and find coaching mentors to help apply these to principles into practice.

Are there any athletes that inspire you?

Michael Phelps as he has been able to maintain excellence for such a long period of time.
