Giants march on in round five

The Giants have continued their winning ways in the Super Netball Championship after downing the Adelaide Thunderbirds 58-53 in Adelaide.

The tense match went back and forth between the two teams before the Giants showed their class in the fourth quarter, with NSWIS athlete Susan Pettitt making a valuable 17 goal contribution in the last term to help seal the team’s fifth win in a row.

Elsewhere, the NSW Swifts continued their search for their first win of the season after going down to the West Coast Fever 45-50 in Perth.

The hosts controlled the majority of the match before a late Swifts charge, however last season’s grand finallists were unable to overcome the deficit.

The Giants next play the Melbourne Vixens in Melbourne, while the NSW Swifts play the Magpies in Sydney.
