Gymnasts selected for Uni Games

NSWIS gymnasts Prashanth Sellathurai and Michael Mercieca have been selected on the Australian team to contest the 2011 World University Games in China.

Sellathurai has been at the forefront of men’s gymnastics in Australia for a number of years, and will use the Uni Games primarily as a warm up for the world championships later this year. Mercieca continued to impress in his development and now provides strong depth for the Australian team.

Songliang Xiong, the Head Coach of the NSWIS Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Program, has been named as a coach for the Australian team.

The 2011 World University Games take place in Shenzhen, China from August 12-23 2011.
