The Australian Hockeyroos, featuring seven NSWIS athletes, have drawn 2-2 with China and now face a nervous to see whether they will compete for fifth and sixth, or seventh and eighth, spot at the 2011 Champions Trophy.

NSWIS athlete Casey Eastham put the Hockeyroos up 1-0 after 16 minutes as Australia converted only their second penalty corner in four matches. The Hockeyroos then scored another before China pegged one back, Australia leading 2-1 into the half time break.

China equalised towards the end of the second half, with neither team unable to break the dead lock before the full time siren sounded.

The Hockeyroos will play England in their next match.

The NSWIS athletes in the team are: Eastham, Kellie White, Emily Hurtz, Toni Cronk, Jade Close, Kate Jenner, Jacklyn McRae, Megan Rivers and Jade Warrender.
