Two bronze medals was the stand out performance for NSWIS athletes at the PyeongChang Paralympic Games.

Para Alpine Skier Mel Perrine picked up the pair of bronze medals in her Visually Impaired category for the Super Combine and Giant Slalom events.

Five athletes competed for Australia from the NSW Institute of Sport – Joany Badenhorst, Patrick Jensen, Tori Pendergast, Mel Perrine and Ben Tudhope.

Badenhorst led the Aussies as co-captain and Opening Ceremony flag-bearer, before unfortunately succumbing to injury prior to competition. Perrine then received the honour of waving the flag for her team in the Closing Ceremony of the Games.

In partnership with the Australian Paralympic Committee, Ski & Snowboard Australia and the NSW Government, it has been a strong result for athletes from New South Wales.

Congratulations to these exceptional athletes!
