Jess Fox Back on Top In Paris With K1 Gold at Olympic Venue

Jess Fox continues her dream comeback season winning her second K1 gold medal of the 2026 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup series at the venue she won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Following her outstanding 2026 World Championships results in Oklahoma City, where she won three gold medals including her fifth K1 World Championship title, the New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) athlete continues to show her dominance in this event.

After winning the women’s K1 heats, Fox kept cool under pressure as the last paddler to go down the rapids in the final. Despite a two-second penalty, Fox finished 0.73 seconds ahead of Eliska Mintalova (SVK) and on top of the podium once again.

“I have great memories here in Paris. It’s always a pleasure to race here with the amazing crowd,” she said.

“The course was hard. It was very challenging, ver physical – I’m still out of breath. I gave it everything and I’m so happy to take the win today.”

Fellow NSWIS athlete Noemie Fox was close to joining her sister on the podium in the women’s K1 final. A two-second penalty to her time saw her finish fifth overall in a close women’s K1 final.
